In my experience, face wash is probably the most personal of all the toiletries (with the exception of your toothbrush). You can always use someone else's toothpaste or body wash in a pinch, but face wash? Not me.

Which brings me to my review. I loved the Charcoal Face Wash from Mentholatum so much that I decided to give the face wash a go. I loved the color (that same REALLY dark grey, as in no light reflection at all) and I found that it generally did a good job of cleaning my face.

No two faces are alike, and no two face washes are either. This particular one may work better me than it did for someone else. Then again, it might not. Either way, at least you know it has no bad chemicals in it.

This product does NOT cause shine, in fact, it actively prevents it. You can be confident of remaining shine free for a few hours or even longer depending on how naturally oily your face is.

The gel itself is blue and has a distinctive cologne smell. Within minutes of applying, you will notice that your skin has a matt look about it and remains so for hours. It looks like you have nothing on your face. It protects the skin as good as any other moisturiser for men.

Oily skin is a problem for most men and this product was developed to allow men to moisturise without the embarrassment of oily results. It works WELL and smells good. Gone are the days when to you have to look like your face has been dipped in oil. I have tried similar products but they come nowhere near.
