To get straight to the point, after trying out the zamples for 3 days, i could feel a difference in my skin, especially my nose, which tends to be more oily than the other parts of my face area. The charcoal has an effect on my skin, keeping my nose oily-free for more than 4 hours (when i was out).

The product is pretty good. I use quite a few skincare products before and found that this clean the sebum teh most effective compared to the rest of the products that I have used.

However, the only thing is that it can be overly dry, so need to have a good moisturiser for the post cleansing. Not sure how good the moisture veil is, but the facewash is good.

The rest have been covered I believed. The mettalic color is super nice. Feels very manly.
The 'charcoal bits' makes the supposed property even more convincing.

Packaging is quite cool also. A must try for most people who are into skincare and grooming!

I like this 3 day trial alot. In fact, I just used the one that I bought.

Very good feeling since it really clean the oil away so it makes my skin feel like its very clean and without oil.

The mettalic color of the foam itself is very cool, I like the color of it. Looks like applying the charcoal on your face. Hahahah.. I can almost feel the little beads of charcoal absorbing all the toxic away. (If you haven known, charcoal effectively absorbs all the sebum away from the pores).

Mentholatum charcoal facewash indeed works. One of the best part is it comes with a sealing tab, so the 'freshness' is guaranteed.

I could not believe it when I used it. Of the facewash I have used (I used to buy the ladies range), this cleanse the oil even better than all those I used before.

I guess this wash is different as a facewash specifically for men, since when I look at it, from the packaging to the 'cream', it looks very boyish. Something very fitting.

Effectiveness:
-Works great as facewash.

Texture:
-Metallic blue grey, looks like volcanic ashes (very cool)
- Particle-like charcoal very nice (looks a bit like soot after bbq but thats the catchy part)

Smell:
-No smell means less unnatural products, good when you want scentfree, but perhaps not ideal when you need that 'fresh feeling' in the morning.

Comes with safety seal. Looks like it is a guarantee quality thing. So this is one of the best part for me. Ensures products are not tempered.

I have oily skin, so I figured this probably wouldn't be that effective in controlling my sebum production, but it was very very surprising! I was refreshed after using it (great smell, by the way), and my skin was surprisingly soft! After using it for a few days, I noticed visibly less breakouts than normal and my face stayed fresh for a longer period than usual. Great product!

Initially never heard of Mentholatum brand but decided to try based on a number of good reviews.

My son bought the retail version of the charcoal face wash from Watsons and used it for 2 weeks morning and night daily.

He said it was good in controlling oil on his face and his face is less shiny than before.

It is also not too strong for sensitive skin.

It would be good if there is a bigger tube for the retail.

Definitely will try the other products from Mentholatum.

I got a sensitive skin and when I tried this product, it magically work well to suit my skin! Not only there isn't any outbreak, I feel so fresh in every wash.

I strongly recommend you guys to try the 3-days sample pack before getting it. You will be amazed.

My hubby has his first wash, he has oily skin. Immediately after his first wash, his face was smoother and less greasy.

The packaging is very modern and easy to use.

Scent was not heavy but also I felt it could be more fragrant!

My hubby says it doesnt leave a tightening feeling which is good for him as he prefers it that way.

After 3 washes, his pores were shrinking a little but still needs more wash to find out more. Definately will get one for him.

After trying many facial products that just don't work, i've found the one that really does what it promises.

Metholatum Charcoal Face Wash effectively absorb excessive oil, sebum and clear dirt in pores and also helps to moisturize and retain skin moisture.

In my humble experience, Facial wash is probably the most personal of all the toiletries (with the exception of your toothbrush). You can always use someone else's toothpaste or body wash in a pinch, but face wash? Not for me dude .

Which brings me to this review. Its how one can be attracted to its outer exterior packaging is this particular brand Facial wash from Mentholatum brings me to & so much that I decided to give the facial wash a try. I loved the color (that really bright greyish colour , some brands charcoal wash are really dark greyish & smells real bad ) and I found that it generally did a good job of cleasing my face.

However, over the course of the 3 samples pack + 1 retail tube that i bought after trying the sample brings me to this " Theres no need for expensive over the shelf so facial formulated for men , this alone can surpass those & do what is promised "

Like I said, no two faces are alike, and no two face washes are either. This particular one may work better for someone else than it did for me. Then again, it might not. Either way, at least you know it has no bad harmful chemicals in it. Sinces its using natural active ingredient "charcoal" .

One would need to ensure that you go smooth on the skin surface ... as smooth as possible to prevent any skin allergy / rashes . With the right product & steps , anyone can achieve a smooth oil shine free complexion .

I myself seldom use any facial products before. Many thanks to Zampleman to give a free try on it. After opened the sample sachet, like the brand name stated it is charcoal. Washing my face with water, felt that my face never experience so fresh before. The oil was completley removed & leave a smooth feeling on my face. Highly recommended!

Many other products that I've tried simply failed to keep my skin oil-free. I was a bit skeptical when I first tried mentholatum, it was a totally refreshing feeling. I could literally feel the oil being zapped away and my skin felt really fresh!

The best part of this product is that my skin stayed oil-free for extremely long hours! Unlike the other products that I've tried, mentholatum did not make my skin feel dry nor leave me with a tingling after wash sensation.

Initally received the package,looking at the 3 sample packs,thinking will it be enough.

Took out 1 pack and try when i was washing my face,after washing my face with it, no itchy sensation and no tightness on my face,instead i was rewarded with a fresh sensation and my face is not oily for quite some time,keeping my face free from oil for the period of time.

Great Product to recommand for...

initially not very ok with the colour, and texture of the charcoal.

But just putting some water onto the charcoal face wash, it was so fun that you can actually treated it as a mask, and played with it.

After usuage of the face wash, my face feel great and not oily anymore, most important, it never created any itchy sensation on my face.

I have been trying other facial products before i decided to give Mentholatum a try. Most of the face wash i have tried either makes my skin too dry (skin feels tight), or it does not control oil well. But for Mentholatum, after washing my face, my skin feel refreshed and cool. Skin does not become oily too soon. and a tiny yet generous amount of the face wash is enough to clean the entire face!
Personally, I have tried the Moisture Veil too. It has a nice refreshing smell and after application, skin feels hydrated and protected. Go give it a try!

Worth the money! Thumbs up!
