5. Pick up a new sport Obesity is a potential problem for all of us in Singapore, what with all the good food around. In order to ensure we are in the pink of health, we need to exercise more. Engaging in Sports allows you to burn that extra fat or cholesterol and stay healthy while enjoying some time away from the mundane responsibilities we have daily. Most importantly, engaging in a sport also allows one to train their mental discipline and for some, teamwork. You could aim to take part in one of the many marathons in 2010 as part of the challenge also. As some experienced ‘marathoners’ say: you gotta run and complete a marathon AT LEAST once in your lifetime. You can refer to our sports section for recommendations to the latest sports or recommended sports. Alternatively, there are 101 websites out there with great sports related content.
6. Get a new hobby Remember that stamp collection book that you had when you were a kid? Or that collection of badges or toys that you have tucked in the storeroom? Why not rekindle this old passion today…. Rediscover your childhood while you looked through your prized possession. Other ideas include taking up photography (hottest hobby nowadays) or exploring (and appreciating) nature of Singapore and the neighboring countries.
7. Get a healthier regime More and more people are suffering from critical illness. According to the Diabetic Society of Singapore, 10% of the population in Singapore aged 18 to 69 suffer from diabetics! Hows that for a statistics? Critical illness don’t usually come overnight from a viral infection, so all precautions should be taken early in our lives. As we consumed food that are increasingly processed, we consume less of the natural nutrients and become ‘legally intoxicated’ with traces of chemicals. Start organic, or at least reduce the intake of fried food and improve your potential of a longer life today.
8. Tidy your room According to a survey done recently by ZAMPLEMAN, 68% of Singaporean guys do not tidy their room and admit that their room is ‘in a mess’. Practically speaking, there is nothing wrong with this if you know exactly where your things are placed. In fact, some of us may find it easier to look for things with the room messed up. …… But think of the repercussions if that girl you have always admired in school decides to drop by and visit you? Or maybe, even your friends or colleagues who decide to pop in. You will be known notoriously as the ‘guy with the messy room’ very soon! From a psychological aspect, keeping your room tidy also affects your mental wellbeing. Living in a cozy and comfortable room allows you to keep your spirit high. Don’t let your room ruin your life every morning. Its time to get accustom to a cleaner fresher environment.
9. Join the ultimate cause: Pray For The World Today! We like this movement so much that we decided to urge all our members to join this campaign. The idea is to make a small prayer a day for the propagation of Earth - that doomsday will not come in 2012. It is an ideology of all man unite, regardless of all religion or background, and together praying for a brighter future. The greatest gift to any humans, we feel is hope – that warm feeling inside us that we care. Together, we can make it!
